Supply Chains

EABER’s Supply Chains research program examined how governments can strengthen economic resilience in response to global shocks, heightened trade tensions and the vulnerabilities exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program developed an analytical framework for identifying when supply chain risks warrant policy intervention, distinguishing between risks that can be effectively managed by firms and those arising from market failures, information constraints or the essential nature of particular goods and services.

The research engaged policymakers and experts across Australia and the region through a series of roundtables to discuss emerging supply chain risks and practical strategies for managing them. This was complemented by scenario analysis of selected critical mineral supply chains, including antimony and phosphorus, and by a special issue of Asia & the Pacific Policy Studies on national and international supply chain policy in East Asia.
