RCEP Research Forum

The RCEP Research Forum, held virtually in October 2020, was convened by the Institute for World Economics and Politics (IWEP) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The event brought together high-level researchers and trade representatives from a range of countries including Australia, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The key theme under discussion was ‘RCEP and the World Trading System: Challenges and Prospects’.

Throughout the forum, participants delved into the intricacies of the RCEP and its implications for the global trading system. A major focal point of the discussions focused on strategies to continue engagement with India, even after the conclusion of RCEP by its 15 signatories.
