Asialink Leaders Foundation Week 2023

Now in its 28th year, the Asialink Leaders Program is the flagship program for developing Asia capability in Australia. The program equips professionals from all sectors – including business, government, the arts, media and not-for-profit –to navigate the complex foreign policy, business and cultural environments in Asia, positioning leaders and their organisations for success in the region. Since its inception, more than 1,050 Australian professionals have completed the program including senior government officials and business leaders, who continue to lead and advocate for stronger engagement with Asia in their respective fields.

The Asialink Leaders Program, now in its 28th year, holds the distinction of being Australia’s flagship initiative for developing Asia capability. The program plays a vital role in equipping professionals from various sectors such as business, government, the arts, media, and not-for-profit organisations with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of foreign policy, business, and cultural environments in Asia. By fostering a deeper understanding of the region, the program positions leaders and their organisations for success in the Asian market.

With over 1,050 Australian professionals having completed the program since its inception, including senior government officials and business leaders, the Asialink Leaders Program has played a significant role in shaping leaders who continue to champion and advocate for stronger engagement with Asia across different fields. These alumni contribute to forging closer ties between Australia and the Asian region through their leadership and ongoing commitment to enhancing collaboration and understanding.

This year’s participants represent a diverse group from across Australia and the region, hailing from federal and state government organisations, arts and cultural institutions, educational institutions, civil society organisations, and various industry sectors including finance, healthcare, resources, agriculture, property development, and media. Notable organisations represented include the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), BHP, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ), CSIRO, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Queensland Government, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, DXD Agency, Girard-Foley & Associates, Global Victoria – Victorian Government, Herbert Smith Freehills, Investment NSW, Melbourne Dental School, National Gallery of Australia, Qantm Intellectual Property, Queensland Art Gallery| Gallery of Modern Art, RMIT University, Trade and Investment Queensland, University of Melbourne, and University of Sydney.
