Jakarta Dialogue II: Comprehensive Regional Security Roundtable

The Second Jakarta Dialogue on Comprehensive Regional Security was co-hosted by the East Asian Bureau of Economic Research (EABER), CSIS Jakarta, and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. The dialogue aimed to explore ways in which ASEAN could strengthen Comprehensive Regional Security.

Chaired by Peter Drysdale, the roundtable brought together esteemed experts including Danny Quah, Yose Rizal Damuri, and Rizal Sukma. The discussions delved into various dimensions of regional security and examined strategies to enhance cooperation and collaboration within ASEAN.

The dialogue witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore, who delivered remarks at the welcome dinner. Additionally, Malaysian Deputy Minister Liew Chin Tong and Mari Pangestu actively participated in the discussions, enriching the dialogue with their valuable insights and perspectives.

By convening this roundtable, the organizers aimed to foster a robust dialogue on Comprehensive Regional Security, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and collective action to address regional challenges effectively. The participation of prominent figures from ASEAN member states further enhanced the exchange of ideas and facilitated a deeper understanding of the security dynamics in the region.
