Indonesia T20 Conference
The Indonesia T20 Conference, held in Bali, Indonesia, focused on the challenges faced by multilateral policies on trade, finance, security, and other issues promoted by international institutions in the post-World War II era. The conference aimed to address the evolving nature of these challenges in today’s world and the need for greater accommodation within the global economic and political order. Long-term issues such as climate change, changes in industrial structure, renewable energy, and labor adjustment were also key topics of discussion, considering their impact on the socio-economic landscape.
Furthermore, the conference recognised the influence of the recovery agenda following the COVID-19 pandemic on countries and the multilateral order. Countries have made various adjustments to address the significant impact of the pandemic, focusing on areas such as healthcare readiness, food security, and social security.
Given its representation of the world’s major economies, the G20 plays a crucial role in bridging various interests. The conference’s plenary session delved into how the G20 can foster greater cooperation and bridge interests amidst geopolitical, socio-economic, and environmental challenges.
